Sen. John McCain promised to appear at a community meeting. When he found out we might be there to ask him honest questions he decided not to show up. So we showed up in his office in Phoenix. Although McCain remained a no-show, we were able to make an impression about the urgency of a meeting!

John McCain runs but can he hide? Immigration activist protest in his office because he won’t listen! Alto Arizona
Instead of talking with us, Senator John McCain
cancels his meeting!
So we take the message to him!
McCain office staff presume this guerro is in charge of the protest, a big mistake on their part!
The McCain Staffer refuses to let me get someone who is in charge to talk to him. He insists “we” leave the office immediately.
Guess what gumbo, I am about the only gringo there, and I am the last guy one should talk to. I had no authority!
This is the Arizona attitude. Give orders to people who are not in charge. Refuse to listen to people who have influence. Take no interest in solutions.
Call your senator and ask him to support comprehensive immigration reform in 2010! It is clear Senator John McCain has no interest in listening!
Help: I need better camera equipment! If you are willing to donate unwanted equipment I would put it to good use! I need digital video and still cameras, programs and gear! Donations of money are also accepted!
The Arizona Republicans have made a mess of immigration reform with their hateful SB 1070. Let’s get this bill introduced into the senate so we can avoid another Arizona in the rest of the 50 states!
We believe in peaceful protests to bring about social reform. Help us in our quest! Call your senator and urge action on Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Help register people to vote. Volunteer in one of the many immigrant's rights groups. Alto Arizona taught me the power of peaceful protest!

200,000 Immigrantion protesters hit Phoenix with Puente and Alto Arizona
They were thinking they might even have 50,000 people at the Alto Arizona protest against SB 1070 which illgealzes "illegal immigrants". The reality is, there were likely 200,000 or more people who jammed the Seattle streets of the Arizona capitol in proest of the racial profiling law put into place by Republican Jan Brewer!
The weekend started off with a Friday protest in the office of Arizona John McCain. The long time Arizona senator had fooled many prior constituents when he announced a pro-immigration reform platform during the past presidential electons. After Governor Jan Brewer came under pressure to veto SB 1070, which requires police to detain all suspected undocumented workers, McCain flipped on the issue and came out in support of the ugly law. He has been active in being a major impediment to immigration reform for some time.
Yesterday, May 28th, 2010, McCain promised a metteing with constiutents at an Arizona comuuity center. He likely heard an immigration rights protest was lurking and cacelled the meeting using the "there was a three hour flight delay" excuse. Subsequently, McCain's office staffers found 200 protestors picketing his office! Sad to say, we have not seen much mention in the mainstream news about it. Pehaps that is why it took a massive Saturday protest today, May 29th, to make the statement!
PASS COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM NOW!
The message is convincingly clear. The question is, will Republican candidates hear before they get a rude awakening in November?

John McCain splats date for discussion of HB 1070, immigrants, protesters ordered from office
A meeting between the increasingly right wing John McCain and the Phoenix, Az., community that was sechduled for May 28th, 2010 was cacelled because McCain's "flight was delayed by three hours". Some say he cancelled his own meeting because he got news the immigrant rights community was going to show up. The top of the meeting was Arizona's racial profiling law, HB 1070.
Many of McCain's supporters were disgruntled when they found out they made a trip to a community meeting for nothing. Many of the immigrant community were disappointed, as they are McCain constituents, as well.
Even though McCain didn't show up, the immigrants right's community was undaunted. They protested outside the quiet Phoenix community center for over a half hour.
Later in the day, over 200 immigrants rights supporters came to McCain's office to deliver a letter asking him to support immigration reform. Shortly after arriving, the staff asked the supporters to leave and told them if they din't leave the police would be called. The supporters didn't leave and the police were called. It took a long time for a response, but they finally showed up in force.
Leaders of the immigrant community met with McCain's office personnel who promised to ask John for a face to face meeting with a response back within 24 hours. The activist are waiting to hear from McCain staff.

Tea Party opposes border security “Congressman” Tom Tancredo backs right wing group
Mis-characterization places
border patrol officers at risk
The Tea Party mis-characterizes Comprehensive Immigration Reform
“SEC. 101. …(1) the Secretary of Homeland Security should establish a national strategic plan for short-term and long-term border security with improved accountability and transparency in agency functions”
The act further calls for:
- SEC. 112. INCREASE IN NUMBER OF CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION OFFICERS by 5000 by 2014;
- SEC. 113. $1,000,000,000 (that is billion) for IMPROVING PORTS OF ENTRY FOR BORDER SECURITY AND OTHER PURPOSES EACH YEAR FROM 2010 T0 2014;
- SEC. 114. INVENTORY OF PERSONNEL
- SEC. 117. CUSTOMS BORDER PATROL AND BORDER PROTECTION ASSETS.
(a) Personal Equipment-
The radical thinking of the Tea Party and apostles of the Tancredo mentality will deny increased U.S. border security and adequate armaments to our border patrol. Such conservative thinking could actually cost lives. It is sad to note, white supremacist groups including the Vinelanders Social Club and anti-semites now support this fringe group called Alipac.
Tom Tancredo not trusted by Dick ArmeyThe truth is, Tom Tancredo was a congressman but Colorado voted him out of office after he grabbed headlines with radical points of view. The Tea Party continues in it’s mischaracterizations by using "Congressman" Tancredo as their draw card for events. As an indication to his extremist point of view, Tancredo ripped John McCain as a LiberalFrankly, I give most tea party members more credit than that. I hope they can tell the difference between an active member of congress and an extremist with a point of view so radical it cost him his seat in the legislature.Reform Immigration For America (RIFA) and the Comprehensive Immigration Bill introduced by Senator Luis Gutierrez solves border security and at the same time provides a solution to the millions of undocumented workers who are in the U.S. It is far from amnesty and allows a path to legalization only after payment of a hefty fine and a background check. The process will take many years to complete.Republicans who support Tancredo and his Tea Party will have a tough battle when re-election rolls around. Most Republicans breathed a deep sigh when Tancredo was voted out of office. Republican Dick Armey Recently called Tancredo a destructive voice.CIR needs your immediate support.
