I am reposting an appeal for help from a dear friend who is in the trenches with Promise Arizona. Promise is an organization which registers voters. Ariel is a tireless worker for the cause of immigration reform and she is asking for a very small favor:
WILL YOU HELP?
Dear Friends,
As some of you may know, I am a field organizer for Promise Arizona's Faith Hope Vote campaign. From the beginning of this campaign, my volunteers have been an amazing source of inspiration. They know how important it is to make sure all Arizonans have a voice in our state and country. Their personal dedication and hundreds of hours of hard work has been key to registering over 13,000 new voters and now, making sure all of those voters turn out to vote.
Their energy and enthusiasm is contagious, but the days are long and the Arizona heat can become unbearable at times. To keep my volunteer army going strong, I need to make sure their bodies stay nourished and hydrated as often as possible. As you might imagine, that's a lot of sandwiches and bottled water. That's why I need your help.
Can you chip in $10 to fuel our volunteer army?
I know that not everyone will have the time or ability to join us in the field over the next 15 days, but this is just as important. You can make a big difference in just 2 minutes.
Alternatively, if you'd like to cook something homemade and bring it in, we'd love to have that too! Just let me know if you're interested and we can plan it out.
Thanks again for your help,
Ariel Fuchs
Online Organizer, Promise Arizona
P.S. CNN covered our registration efforts last week in this report: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2010/10/08/rockin.latino.vote.cnn?iref=allsearch
