Lesbian immigration activist speaks before her arrest

Emily is a lesbian who champions the causes of civil and gay rights in Denver, Colorado.  Recently, she was one of 14 people arrested in front of the Federal court house in a united act of civil disobedience.

Emily also marched with us at the immigration detention facility in Aurora, Colorado.  She has always been one of our great cheer leaders and she has words of wisdom to pass along.

We are waiting to see what the court decides in Emily’s case.  It is taking a concerted effort to make the urgency for the need of immigration reform known.  Sadly, some of our brothers and sisters are paying a high price for it in their civil disobedience.
