Vote 4 immigration reform! Call your senator!

Mark Udall disappears, Arizona Rancher Shot, ‘illegal immigrant’ blamed, the Russians are Coming!

The Russians are coming!  Let’s hold

Congressional hearings!

Says Kay Granger

Tom Tancredo snapped his fingers and Republican law makers jumped.  An Arizona rancher was shot and all the fingers pointed to Mexico.  Except for those pointing at the Democratic party.

Many people don’t know yet, but the border is in full mobilization.

“The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming!” screamed Rep. Kay Granger of Texas, the top Republican on the House Foreign Operations subcommittee.

Perhaps Ms. Granger thinks ‘them thar illegal's is going to hole up crossin the border till our Congressional hearings is over’.  She probably used better English that that but the idea is just as ridiculous!  Holding emergency Congressional hearings in Washington D.C. is not going to stop people from crossing the border in Arizona.  But it could stop immigration reform which is probably what Rep. Granger wants.

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson isn’t waiting for Congressional hearings.  He ordered his national guard to the border.  Great press Bill, but it violates the U.S. Constitution.  Read the book! Heck, New Mexico must have a lot of money.  Either that, or the guys with posh homes in Santa Fe are in for one heck of a tax increase!

pope-gov-th Governor Bill Richardson

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is thinking about mobilizing 250 national guard troops.  First, she demanded the federal government send the troops.  It was not going to cost Arizona anything and it made great headlines for her, too.  Since the federal government believes in leaving border protection to law enforcement instead of the army, Governor Brewer has re-think.  Do we really need to send an entire army to defend against one ‘illegal immigrant’?  Arizona tax payers are not going to like the bill for services.

x350 Governor Brewer throws out first pitch

What?  Two governors and Rep. Kay Granger want to mobilize the border for just one ‘illegal immigrant’?  Yep.

Supposedly, one lone Mexican hiked into Bob Krentz’s 35,000 acre ranch, found the owner, shot him, then raced 20 miles back across the border before law enforcement, with dogs and pursuit vehicles, could catch him.  It doesn’t make sense.  But then, the Russians have been coming for a long time and chickens with their heads cut off come cheap these days.  So do hot heads from Texas.

Tancredo has a point.  A strong border makes sense.  Under immigration reform, the Republicans get what they want:  A strong border.  But they would rather use state money to mobilize their national guard than enter into a discussion that provides a solution for undocumented workers who are already here.

Allowing the Mexican work force to cross the bridges instead of playing boy scouts in the desert allows law enforcement to concentrate on the few cats who still take the scenic route.  Most of them will be drug dealers and they will have a nasty surprise when a bored boarder patrol descends upon them.

Unfortunately, the Republicans are not the only ones impeding immigration reform, as reported by Conservative Fox News.  Colorado Senator Mark Udall has disappeared.

Maybe Mark is hunting on one of those big ranches with Tom Tancredo at the border.  Immigrant’s rights groups have been trying to get a face to face appointment with him for some time.  They say they have not been able to get more than a token meeting with a Udall staff member, let alone the senator.

Mark Udall

Assuming Immigration Reform gets in front of legislators after Easter 2010, Udall better move quick.  He is about to miss out on an estimated 5,000,000 Latino votes backed by people with good memories.

Please call Mark Udall RIGHT NOW and ask him why he is not speaking out on immigration reform and why he won’t meet with immigration supporters?  Every call counts!
